The idea of changing my last name feels like pondering a significant question mark. My name has a certain melody to it, and the thought of altering it seems strange. 8. Recently, things took a sharper downturn as OP’s ex called to give her an ultimatum to change her last name from his name back to her maiden name because his fiancée would now take up that name.
What sort of demand is this? I think OP should just say no and ignore it. Actually, she shouldn’t even say no, she should just ignore the demand entirely. No one can take that name away from her. It is her decision. If the fiancée feels uncomfortable using the ex-husband’s name as her last name, she can choose another one because OP isn’t letting go of it.
